Description
The idea of this came to me when I was journaling. I was learning about the art of Kintsugi.
If you don't know what Kintsugi is... it is a Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer that has been dusted or mixed with gold or silver or platinum powder. The philosophy behind the process of Kintsugi treats the breakage as part of the history of the object, rather than something to disguise. The word kintsugi actually means "to mend with gold": a broken ceramic vase is repaired rather than discarded.
Thus a vision came of a person being mended with gold. The gold represents God and his love. Like the story of God being the potter and we the clay, God is mending our human brokenness with himself (the gold). Our brokenness can be honored and not hidden. Healed and not concealed. Shared and not shamed. Brokenness and pain is part of life and being human. So is being healed and loved!
